Welcome
to Shirway, Inc.'s Pro-Tech product.
Your
home is your first line of defense, let us help you with Pro-Tec.
Between 1992
and 2001, an average of 4,266 lost their lives and another 24913
were injured annually as the result of fire. An alarming 80% of fire deaths
occur in residences. Twice as many children under age 5 die in fires than
the rest of the American population. Children under the age of 10 account
for 22.2% of all fire deaths. Most children learn about fire and fire
safety at school, but have never discussed it at home. Because children
are familiar with general fire safety does not mean they know how to react
if a fire strikes at home.

Our
Product
Pro-Tec is
a fire escape device that is installed in windows to allow victims of
domestic fires to escape to safety when the main exits of the house
are blocked. This system should not be considered as the main fire exit
during a residential fire. It is the second option for those who cannot
access other exits.
Pro-Tec alerts
the child when the smoke alarm is activated. A visibility light allows
the system to be located in a smoke filled room. When the smoke alarm
is activated, an audio guide directs the child toward the window escape
system. When the child finds their way to the escape window, they place
their foot into the bottom foot hold, activating the window release
mechanism. By pressing the release pedal down, the locking device cable
unlocks the window. When the window is unlocked the activator spring
push pins the window open two inches. This allows the child to open
the window. The child uses the inside foot holds and hand grips as a
ladder to evacuate the room. Once outside the window, the child uses
the outside foot holds and hand grips to safely climb down.
Pro-Tec shows promise.
According to our industry analysis, the risk
of fire is still a very big threat to families. The addition of the
Pro-Tec escape system, if used properly, would aid in the escape from
burning homes.
